It is a famous Krapina promenade. The name of the town is closely related to the name of the river that was once abundant with freshwater fish- carp. In the kajkavian dialect the carp fish is called krap. There is Ljudevit Gaj Primary School, a high school and a Festival hall. In the honour of Krapina's 800th anniversary, Music pavillion has been risen, the place where music festivals occur during the Kajkavian culture week.
